My Volunteering Experience at EchoCuba
It all began one summer when I was required to start doing my community hours in order to graduate from high school. Then Gretel, the Cuban Missions Project Coordinator at , told me her boss, Teo Babun, would allow me to complete my community hours there. So I decided it would be a great opportunity to experience, and I agreed to do it. When I arrived at and met everyone, I enjoyed it from the start. I helped out with packing vitamins, making licenses, directing calls, and more. As the days went on I realized that it wasn’t about just volunteering here and getting the hours I needed, but it was the start of becoming a part of a new family.
is a wonderful organization that was made to help impoverished Cuban people in many ways. It is a great honor to be a part of this humanitarian group. Whenever I’m going to take the day and volunteer my time here at , I always have fun and look forward to it. This experience has been beneficial to me because I have the opportunity to learn about those who are less fortunate in Cuba. Packing and sending vitamins allows me to feel as if I have done something small to help alleviate Cubans who are in need. Finally, I would like to give a special thanks to Teo Babun and all the people at for their kindess.
