A Challenge |
In Matthew 6:26, Jesus states, “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” I find it so comforting to know that God’s provision is not limited. What is more comforting is that he values His children above all. If we examine our lives, there is evidence of God’s provision. Everyone has areas in which there is lack, however, it’s Jehova Jireh, our might provider that sustains us. |
Although God is a God of provision and a God that blesses His people, some may question why there is such a great need in different places such as Cuba. Looking around, I see how each person is blessed in different ways and each to his or her own measure. I firmly believe that people are blessed in abundance so that they not only be blessed themselves but also be able to bless others. God can use any means to take care of His children, but often He wants to use us. What a privilege and honor! |
God allows us to know the joy there is in giving, the satisfaction we feel when we are pleasing Him, and an opportunity to bring Him glory. Pouring out what the Lord has given us is the best way to worship! Loving others as He has loved us is how we show our love for Him. We all have talents or gifts that can be used in order to help a brother or sister in need, whether it is a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, a smile, or a simple prayer. |
Brethren, I encourage you to examine your lives and look at all the ways you are blessed. I bet you can’t help but be thankful for the ways the Lord has been gracious to you. Now, I challenge you, as I have challenged myself, to take those gifts, talents, blessings, and opportunities and find a way to bless another. Along with blessing another, we will be treating ourselves to the gift of giving. Let’s do our best to express love in the best way we can, by sacrificing and giving of ourselves. There are always opportunities but we have to be ready and willing. At , the staff has made a commitment to allow the Lord to use us in the vision of helping the Cuban people. Won’t you join us? |
