Dr. Teo A. Babun, Jr.

A
committed Christian, Dr. Babun has a distin-guished
career in manufacturing, shipping, distribution
and investment banking. He
now dedicates his life to the re-building
and capacity development of the emerging
Christian church in Cuba, and to writing
faith-strengthening books. His most
recent publications include: Dealing
with Your Personal Crisis and The Cuban Revolution-The
Years of Promise. |

Dr.
Babun has conducted extensive research
on Cuba’s demographics, religion,
social needs, and the Christian church. |

In
1994, he co-founded to provide humanitarian
and capacity building help to the emerging
church.
|
 |
He
has authored a large number of manuals and studies
on multiple issues related to Cuba. His most popular
publication has been The
Business Guide to Cuba, a well-liked manual
on future investment opportunities
in the island. |
 |
Dr. Babun has a long history of participation
in evangelical activities with such ministries as
Campus Crusade for
Christ, Executive Ministries, Search Ministries, and Vision for a Christian. |
 |
He is a Deacon
and Chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee
of University Baptist Church in Coral Gables, Florida. |
 |
He also started Young Life of Greater
Miami to help empower young people to effect positive
change and growth. Under his leadership, Young Life
helped over 900 kids improve their self-image, learn
positive values, and necessary life skills by attending
weekly clubs.Young Life of Greater Miami touched
the lives of over 20,000 teenagers. More than 2,000
adolescents participated in Youth Clubs, contact
work, mentoring, camping, college tours, service
projects, and leadership development. |

Dr.
Babun is a former director of The Atlantic Council
of the United States and has served on the governing
boards of many civic, educational and other private
organizations. Some of these
include the Environmental Economics
Council of the National Audubon Society; the National Advisory Board of the School
of Business & Economics,
Michigan Technological University; Trustee of the
Florida International University School of Business;
Vice-Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board;
and an Executive Committee member of the Greater
Miami Chamber of Commerce. |

An
Electrical Engineer and a Business Administrator,
in 1981 he received the Outstanding Alumni Award
from Michigan Technological University. In 2006
he earned a Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D, from
Vision International University, and in 2002
received a Doctor of Letters, D. Litt., from
Miami International University. |

Dr. Babun and his wife Mary are the
parents of two sons and a daughter; they are also
the grandparents of four. They reside in Surfside,
Florida. |
